Role Overview

We are looking for an AI/ML Engineer to join the early engineering team of a fast-growing AI startup. This is a high-ownership role where you will work directly with the founders and build AI systems from the ground up. You will work across the entire AI layer, including Large Language Models (LLMs), agentic AI, AI evaluation, voice AI, multimodal reasoning, and personalization, along with the infrastructure required to build fast, reliable, and engaging AI products.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex technical problems, thrives in a fast-paced startup environment, and wants to take ownership of products from idea to production.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and deploy production-grade AI systems.
• Develop applications powered by Large Language Models (LLMs).
• Design and implement agentic AI workflows.
• Work on Voice AI systems and natural voice interactions.
• Explore and build solutions involving multimodal reasoning.
• Work on AI evaluation to improve the quality and reliability of AI systems.
• Contribute to AI personalization and product intelligence.
• Solve complex technical problems across the AI and product stack.
• Work closely with the founders on core AI and product decisions.
• Take substantial ownership of building and improving AI systems from the ground up.

Tech Stack

• Large Language Models (LLMs) – GPT, LLAMA, Claude, or similar
• Agentic AI / AI Agents – Frameworks for autonomous workflows
• Voice AI – Speech recognition, text-to-speech, voice interaction pipelines
• Multimodal AI – Combining vision, language, and audio
• AI Evaluation & Quality – Testing and validation frameworks
• Personalization & Product Intelligence – Recommendation systems, user modeling
• Infrastructure – Cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), CI/CD
• Programming – Python (likely), with experience in ML libraries (PyTorch, TensorFlow, LangChain, etc.)

Requirements

• Experience: 2–5 years of relevant experience in AI/ML engineering or closely related field, preferably at a startup.
• Educational Qualification: Must have completed UG degree from one of the top 10 IITs in India. Alternatively, UG degree from IIIT Hyderabad, NIT Trichy, IIT (BHU) Varanasi, BITS Pilani (Pilani or Goa campus), Chennai Mathematical Institute (CMI), or Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) Kolkata is also considered.
• JEE Rank: Must have secured a JEE rank below 5,000.
• Technical Skills:
  • Strong programming and problem-solving skills.
  • Hands-on experience building AI systems.
  • Experience with one or more of: Large Language Models (LLMs), agentic AI/AI agents, voice AI, multimodal AI/reasoning.
  • Ability to build and deploy production-grade AI systems.
• Soft Skills: Strong sense of ownership, ability to work independently, comfortable in a fast-paced startup environment.
