Role Overview

We are in search of a skilled AOSP BSP & Low-Level Driver Engineer (SDE-2) with a robust background in Android-based embedded systems development. In this role, you will be instrumental in the customization of Board Support Packages (BSP) and development of low-level device drivers. You will also be deeply involved in hardware bring-up activities and system-level optimization to enhance overall product performance. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of the interaction between hardware and software, contributing to the seamless performance of Android devices.

Key Responsibilities

1. BSP Development & Customization

   • Develop and customize Board Support Packages (BSP) for various Android-based devices.
   • Integrate vendor SDKs from chipset developers like Qualcomm and MediaTek into AOSP builds.
   • Modify bootloader, kernel configurations, and device tree settings as needed.

2. Low-Level Device Driver Development

   • Design, implement, and maintain Linux kernel device drivers for a variety of peripherals such as displays, cameras, audio components, and sensors.
   • Utilize protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART, and PCIe for driver implementation and debugging.
   • Focus on power management, interrupt handling, and memory optimization tasks.

3. Hardware Bring-Up & Debugging

   • Engage in board bring-up activities, including the validation of kernel boots and peripheral initializations.
   • Debug critical issues such as kernel panics and hardware integration problems, using tools like JTAG and oscilloscopes.

4. Android Framework & HAL Integration

   • Create and modify Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL) modules to ensure effective communication between kernel drivers and the Android framework.
   • Assist in Android upgrades and guarantee compatibility across different releases.

5. Performance Optimization & Stability

   • Enhance system performance through optimization of boot time, runtime efficiency, and overall stability.
   • Collaborate with Quality Assurance and hardware teams to ensure thorough validation and certification processes.

Tech Stack

• Programming languages: C, C++
• Platforms: Android, Embedded Linux
• Tooling: Git, Debugging tools (JTAG, ADB, Logic Analyzer, etc.)
• Communication protocols: I2C, SPI, UART, PCIe, GPIO.

• 4–6 years of experience in AOSP, embedded Linux, or Android system development.
• Strong proficiency in C/C++ and Linux kernel programming.
• Hands-on experience with BSP customization and device tree configuration.
• Experience developing drivers for peripherals (display, audio, sensors, connectivity, etc.).
• Strong understanding of Linux kernel architecture, memory management, and interrupt handling.
• Familiarity with Git and structured software development practices.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Qualcomm/MediaTek SoC platforms.
• Knowledge of Android HAL architecture and framework internals.
• Experience with power management optimization and secure boot.
• Familiarity with OTA updates and system image builds.
