Role Overview

The Application Engineering Consultant will specialize in thermo-mechanical and electronics reliability analysis. This role is designed for experienced professionals who will play a crucial part in developing and enhancing multiphysics workflows. Your expertise will help innovate workflows that effectively address the challenges faced in consumer electronics and associated reliability applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Innovating Workflows: You will develop expertise in the Simcenter Simlab software, particularly in consumer electronics workflows, including PCB, MLB, and 3D IC analysis. Evaluation of existing workflows will be critical, identifying opportunities for improvement while collaborating closely with the Simcenter Simlab R&D team. Testing and validating workflow performance, you will recommend usability and efficiency enhancements.

• Driving Adoption & Knowledge Sharing: Your role will involve creating robust technical presentations and training materials to foster product adoption among users. You will produce comprehensive end-to-end tutorials and high-quality user documentation, enhancing the learning experience of our client base. Additionally, you will support beta programs, gather feedback, and work closely with users to improve product functionalities.

• Ensuring Quality & Customer Success: Collaborating with Technical Product Managers, you will focus on reproducing, testing, and resolving customer-reported issues efficiently. Your collaboration with lead application engineers and product definition teams will ensure the successful implementation of developed products through thorough testing and validation.

• 3–4 years of experience in thermo-mechanical simulation or electronics reliability applications.
• Strong proficiency in FEA tools such as SimLab, ANSYS, Abaqus, or similar platforms.
• Experience with PCB, 3D IC/package analysis, thermal management, and drop/shock reliability workflows.
• Solid understanding of solid mechanics, including stress, strain, elasticity, and plasticity.
• Experience with linear and nonlinear static and dynamic analyses.
• Familiarity with EDA workflows and PCB/3D IC design principles.
• Ability to develop and optimize simulation workflows for electronics applications.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently in a contract role.
