Backed by significant funding, the startup is focused on advancing AI capabilities across multiple domains including large language models, agentic systems, voice AI, and multimodal reasoning. The environment is fast-paced and offers direct collaboration with the founders, minimizing management layers and maximizing technical ownership.

Role Overview

We are looking for an Applied AI Engineer - LLM & GenAI to join the early engineering team. This is a high-ownership role where you will work directly with the founders to build AI systems from the ground up. You will operate across the entire AI stack, from designing and deploying LLM-based applications to building agentic workflows and voice interaction systems. The ideal candidate thrives on solving complex technical problems, has prior startup experience, and wants to be part of a founding team that drives product decisions from idea to production.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and deploy production-grade AI/ML systems.
• Develop applications powered by Large Language Models (LLMs).
• Design and implement agentic AI workflows.
• Work on Voice AI systems and natural voice interactions.
• Explore and build solutions involving multimodal reasoning.
• Work on AI evaluation to improve quality and reliability of AI systems.
• Contribute to AI personalization and product intelligence.
• Solve complex technical problems across the AI and product stack.
• Work closely with founders on core AI and product decisions.
• Take substantial ownership of building and improving AI systems from the ground up.

Tech Stack

• Large Language Models (LLMs) – GPT, Llama, or similar
• Agentic AI / AI Agents – LangChain, AutoGPT, or custom frameworks
• Voice AI – Speech-to-text, text-to-speech, voice interaction pipelines
• Multimodal AI – Models handling text, image, audio, video
• AI Evaluation – Metrics, testing, and monitoring for AI reliability
• AI Personalization – Recommendation systems, user modeling
• Programming Languages – Python, possibly JavaScript/TypeScript
• ML Frameworks – PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face Transformers
• Infrastructure – Docker, Kubernetes, cloud platforms (AWS/GCP)
• MLOps – Model deployment, monitoring, CI/CD for ML

Eligibility Criteria

• JEE Rank: Must have secured a JEE rank below 5,000.
• Experience: 2–5 years of experience working at a startup.
• Educational Qualification: UG degree from one of the top 10 IITs in India. PG from IIT not considered if UG was not from IIT.
• Preferred Institutes: IIIT Hyderabad, NIT Trichy, IIT (BHU), BITS Pilani (Pilani/Goa), Chennai Mathematical Institute, Indian Statistical Institute (Kolkata).

Technical Skills Required

• Strong programming and problem-solving skills.
• Hands-on experience building AI/ML systems.
• Experience with one or more of: Large Language Models (LLMs), Agentic AI / AI Agents, Voice AI, Multimodal AI / Multimodal Reasoning.
• Ability to build and deploy production-grade AI systems.
