Brand Manager for a culture-first South Indian brand at a new consumer venture by a leading Indian brand builder.
Our client is a new venture by a leading Indian consumer brand builder, focused on building tasteful brands across categories and geographies. The company is about six months old with a team of ~25 people, each driven to do the best work of their lives. The founder previously built a major consumer brand not just by making good products, but by understanding what a generation of Indians wanted to feel about themselves and making that buyable. Now they are replicating that approach across more categories for more kinds of Indians, from scratch.
We are looking for a Brand Manager to run one of our brands, deeply rooted in South India — its culture, rituals, and everyday habits. The category has historically sold heritage, nostalgia, and authenticity, but with little relevance to how people live and shop today. We are building a culture-first brand that represents regional taste in the present tense — rooted enough to carry authority, current enough to appeal to a 24-year-old without explanation. You will own the brand’s commercial success: the plan, portfolio, budget, partners, calendar, and shelf presence. There is a creative lead who owns the look and feel; you own how the brand works in the market.
While the role is not heavily technical, comfort with numbers and data-driven decision-making is essential.

Quirks that matter:
Full ownership of a brand at a house of brands from day zero. Direct access to one of the sharpest consumer brand builders in India. Opportunity to build a culture-first brand rooted in a region that most national brands still market to badly.
