Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Business Manager to join our dynamic sales team in Chennai, India. In this field-based role, you will be the key representative responsible for developing and growing existing Rayner business in the assigned territory. You will drive the financial performance of the territory, build strong relationships with surgeons, consultants, procurement professionals, pharmacists, theatre staff, and other hospital personnel at all levels. As a strategic partner, you will ensure our innovative surgical solutions achieve their full market potential while maintaining the highest standards of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Sales & Revenue: Sell Rayner and Rayner associate products to ophthalmologists in private practice, teaching institutes, charitable hospitals, and government hospitals. Accountable for achieving agreed sales and performance targets within budget and timelines.
• Territory Management: Analyze territory/market potential, track sales and status reports, and develop and implement sales strategies to penetrate the ophthalmologist market effectively.
• Business Development: Identify new business opportunities, build a pipeline of potential clients, and convert leads through strategic planning and execution.
• Customer Engagement: Implement customer events, sales and marketing campaigns, and sales presentations. Ensure best-in-class customer relationships and satisfaction.
• Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and submit regular sales reports, forecasts, and updates to the sales manager. Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify opportunities.
• Collaboration: Contribute positively to the Sales and Marketing team through cooperative relationships and collaborative efforts to achieve team and company objectives.

Tech Stack

• Software: Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Tools: CRM software (implied from sales reporting and account management), territory planning tools, digital communication platforms.

Essential:

• Expertise in surgical, glaucoma, and cataract surgery (preferred).
• Ability to thrive in a surgical environment.
• Professional manner, proficiency, attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills.
• Ability to travel.
• Valid driver's license and passport.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Desirable:
• B.A. or B.S. degree required.
• Ophthalmic current clinical experience preferred.
• 3 years medical device experience, preferably in ophthalmic sales.
• Experience in sales negotiation, business development, territory planning, customer management, lead generation and conversion.
• Track record of exceptional performance in medical device or pharmaceutical sales (preferred).
• Capable of regularly interacting with surgeons, clinical investigators/customers, and establishing meaningful business/client relationships.
• Knowledge of the medical/hospital markets (preferred).
