Role Overview We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Category Manager to drive growth and profitability for a product category. This role requires expertise in purchasing, assortment planning, inventory replenishment, product merchandising, and collaboration across teams to ensure the best customer experience and achieve business targets. You will own the category's P&L and work closely with vendors, operations, marketing, and product teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the category's P&L with focus on Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) and inventory turnover.
• Build and manage a compelling product selection aligned with customer preferences and market demand.
• Optimize product listings for visibility and conversions.
• Plan and execute promotional strategies to boost sales and customer engagement.
• Stay ahead of market trends and competitive landscape to refine assortment strategies.
• Implement competitive pricing models and identify new trends relevant to the category.
• Use data-driven insights to identify growth opportunities and enhance customer experience.
• Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to track category performance.
• Develop monthly replenishment plans to maintain optimal stock levels.
• Negotiate with suppliers for better pricing and terms.
• Manage day-to-day category operations and ensure seamless processes.
• Work closely with warehouse and operations teams to oversee inventory management.
• Collaborate with product team and internal teams for appropriate merchandising and app features to boost conversion.

Tech Stack

• E-commerce platform (proprietary or standard)
• Data analysis tools (Excel, Google Sheets, or similar)
• Inventory and replenishment management systems (e.g., ERP)
• Analytics and reporting tools for KPIs
• Customer relationship management (CRM) tools
• Basic understanding of SQL or business intelligence tools is a plus

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Master's degree preferred).

Experience

• 5+ years in category management, vendor management, sourcing, or P&L experience in e-commerce or retail.
• Expertise in product selection, price negotiation, and supplier relationship management.
• Proficiency in data analysis and attention to detail.
• Team management experience.
• Prior experience of meeting or exceeding business targets.

Preferred

• Good understanding of the Tamil Nadu market, with experience tailoring campaigns to local consumer behaviour.
• Fluency in Tamil and Hindi is a plus.
• Experience in B2C preferred.
