Role Overview

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Commercial Assistant to join our team in Mumbai. This role involves providing critical support to the Commercial Assistant Manager in day-to-day operations related to import and export documentation, compliance, and logistics coordination. The Commercial Assistant will be responsible for preparing and maintaining documents, tracking shipments, and ensuring that all customs and shipping processes run smoothly. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with a background in commerce or logistics who want to build a career in international trade and commercial operations within a reputed engineering firm.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and process documents required for the efficient movement of goods through import and export procedures
• Review all shipping, handling, storage, and customs billing to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Maintain a comprehensive database to track merchandise and shipments
• Handle claims related to merchandise shortages and overages
• Provide administrative support to commercial bankers and coordinate with banking partners
• Deliver customer service to commercial banking customers and resolve queries
• Monitor and maintain reports on commercial activities and logistics operations
• Assist the Commercial Assistant Manager with any additional tasks as assigned

Tech Stack

• Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Shipping and logistics software / ERP systems (familiarity preferred)
• Banking or financial transaction platforms (basic knowledge)

Requirements

Qualifications

• Minimum graduation with B.Com degree or Logistics
• Basic knowledge of banking operations

Experience

• 1 to 4 years of relevant experience in commercial, logistics, or export/import documentation

Skills & Abilities

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of shipping regulations, customs policies, and trade documentation
• Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) or related software
• Ability to maintain accurate records and track merchandise
• Capability to handle claims and resolve discrepancies
