Role Overview

We are looking for a Development Manager to serve as the primary owner of engineering excellence for assigned projects. This role combines strong technical depth, critical thinking, people leadership, and operational discipline to help teams deliver secure, reliable, scalable, and maintainable software. The Development Manager will own the Engineering Health Scorecard, uphold engineering standards, proactively identify issues, and provide clear insights on engineering health to senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Proactive Issue Detection and Prevention: Establish daily operational review practices to monitor production errors, latency, and other critical metrics. Proactively identify anomalies and lead structured root-cause analysis for incidents.
• Engineering Health and Standards: Own the Engineering Health Scorecard, reporting trends and risks to product teams and leadership. Uphold engineering practices and continuously improve code quality and performance metrics.
• Technical Leadership: Provide architectural direction and serve as an escalation point for complex technical problems. Lead modernization initiatives, including the migration to .NET Core and the integration of generative AI capabilities into applications.
• Delivery and Team Management: Drive sprint planning and execution, ensuring technical debt and reliability improvements are prioritized alongside new feature development. Mentor and grow engineering talents through regular feedback and career development conversations.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 12+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years leading engineering teams.
• Strong hands-on experience with the Microsoft technology stack, including C#, .NET 8+, .NET Core, ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework Core, and REST API development.
• Experience with modern frontend engineering using Vue.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, ESLint, and Prettier.
• Strong understanding of application architecture, microservices, API-driven design, secure coding practices, OOP, SOLID principles, design patterns, and clean architecture.
• Experience with relational databases and performance tuning, preferably SQL Server, along with caching platforms such as Redis.
• Experience with messaging and event-driven systems such as RabbitMQ, Kafka, and Google Pub/Sub.
• Experience with containerized services and cloud platforms, preferably Docker, Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), and Google Cloud services.
• Experience with CI/CD, source control, and engineering workflow tools such as Bamboo, GitHub, Bitbucket, Jira, and Confluence.
• Experience with code quality and security tools such as SonarQube, SonarLint, Snyk, Nexus IQ, StyleCop, Roslyn Analyzers, and .editorconfig.
• Experience with observability, diagnostics, and incident analysis using tools such as New Relic, Sentry, and Google Cloud Logging.
• Experience or strong interest in integrating LLMs and Generative AI capabilities into production applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present technical risks, trade-offs, and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
