About the Company

AdoptAI is an early-stage startup on a mission to accelerate AI adoption among India's small and medium businesses. We believe that widespread AI-driven productivity can unlock faster growth for the country. The company is currently in the pre-MVP stage and is looking for a founding engineer to build the platform that will bridge the gap between businesses needing AI solutions and builders who can deliver them.

Role Overview

We are past the concept stage and have a clear vision for a two-sided marketplace. As the founding full-stack developer, you will be responsible for building the minimum viable product (MVP) from the ground up. You will own all technical decisions, from choosing the stack to architecting the system, and work closely with a non-technical founder who will focus on product logic and business strategy. This is a hands-on role where you will not just write code but also contribute to shaping the direction of the initiative.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build an MVP of a two-sided marketplace platform where businesses can post AI challenges and builders can discover them, receive support, and submit proofs of concept
• Develop and maintain the admin moderation panel and supporting tools
• Own the entire technical stack and make informed decisions on technology choices
• Collaborate with the founder to refine product logic and ensure alignment with business goals
• Ensure scalability, performance, and security of the platform from day one
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment processes
• Contribute to the overall product strategy and help define the roadmap
• Work in a hybrid remote setup with occasional in-person meetings in Bangalore

Tech Stack

The tech stack is open by design, but we prefer well-documented, widely-supported technologies that another developer could easily pick up later. You are encouraged to bring your own opinions and defend them. Typical suggestions include:

• Frontend: React, Vue.js, or similar modern framework
• Backend: Node.js, Python (Django/FastAPI), or Ruby on Rails
• Database: PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar
• Cloud: AWS, GCP, or Azure
• Version Control: Git
• Deployment: Docker, Kubernetes, or simple CI/CD pipelines

Location

Hybrid remote based in Bangalore City, Bengaluru, Karnataka. Must be willing to meet in person when required.

• 1+ year of web development experience (required)
• Proven experience building and shipping a web application used by real users outside your own team
• Proficiency in modern full-stack technologies (frontend and backend)
• Comfortable owning technical decisions and working alongside a non-technical founder
• Genuine excitement about AI adoption in India
• Based in Bangalore and able to meet in person when required
• Strong communication and product logic skills
