Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Frontend Engineer (React) to join our product engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for crafting fast, delightful, and reliable web experiences that power our platform. You will work closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to translate complex product needs into simple, performant, and beautiful user interfaces. You will own the frontend layer end‑to‑end, from component design and responsive layouts to performance optimisation and browser‑level debugging. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of JavaScript and React, a strong eye for detail, and a proven track record of shipping production‑grade, mobile‑first UI.

Key Responsibilities

• Build product‑grade UI: Develop reusable UI components and frontend features using JavaScript (ES6+), React, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Own responsive design: Deliver pixel‑perfect, mobile‑first experiences across a wide range of breakpoints and devices.
• Ensure cross‑browser compatibility: Make features work consistently across Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge, including real‑device quirks.
• Performance optimisation: Improve loading, rendering, and runtime performance using profiling tools and best practices such as code splitting, memoization, caching, and asset optimisation.
• Ship with testing confidence: Write unit/component tests and automated browser tests (E2E) to prevent regressions and improve release velocity.
• Master browser debugging: Diagnose UI issues using DevTools (network, performance, memory, layout/rendering) and fix problems at the root.
• Deliver strong Core Web Vitals: Monitor and improve LCP, INP, and CLS, and build performance budgets into day‑to‑day decisions.
• Work deeply with Web APIs: Use browser capabilities effectively and safely.
• Build Progressive Web App features: Create offline‑ready experiences, implement caching strategies, manage service workers, and design resilient UX patterns.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally: Work closely with Product, Design, and Backend to translate requirements into scalable frontend systems.

Tech Stack

• Core Languages: JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3, TypeScript (preferred)
• Frontend Framework: React
• Testing: Unit/component testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, React Testing Library), automated browser testing (e.g., Cypress, Playwright)
• Performance Tools: Browser DevTools (network, performance, memory, layout/rendering), Lighthouse, Web Vitals monitoring
• Build & Optimisation: Code splitting, memoization, caching strategies
• Web APIs: Service Workers, Cache API, various browser APIs
• Progressive Web App (PWA): Offline strategies, service workers, installability
• Design Collaboration: Design systems, component libraries, responsive/mobile‑first layouts

Must have: 5+ years of production web application experience with React and JavaScript. Deep knowledge of HTML, CSS, responsive design, cross‑browser compatibility, performance optimisation, and testing (unit + browser automation). Strong debugging skills using DevTools. Understanding of Core Web Vitals, PWA fundamentals, and Web APIs.
