NexusOne, a fast-growing AI-native data platform, is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to support HR operations in India and provide operational support for the U.S. team. This role combines HR operations, recruiting support, compliance, and employee experience initiatives in a high-growth, global environment based in Pune.

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced, proactive HR Generalist to support day-to-day HR operations across India and provide operational support for U.S. HR needs. This role partners closely with our global People Operations team to ensure smooth, compliant, and employee-friendly processes in a fast-moving, high-growth environment. The HR Generalist will also support recruiting and onboarding efforts across both regions, working with hiring managers and candidates to deliver a seamless experience.

Key Responsibilities

HR Operations (India & U.S.)

• Serve as a primary point of contact for HR-related questions and employee support in India, while providing operational support for the U.S. team.
• Support onboarding and offboarding processes, including documentation, background checks, and coordination of systems access.
• Maintain and regularly audit employee records in HR systems (e.g., Paylocity, Notion), ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Manage time-off tracking, attendance, and leave administration in line with local laws and company policies.
• Support benefits administration and insurance coordination for the India team; assist with benefits-related questions for U.S. employees as needed.

Recruiting Support

• Partner with hiring managers to schedule interviews, coordinate candidate communication, and track progress in the ATS.
• Support sourcing and initial screening for select roles in India and the U.S.
• Coordinate offer letter execution, background checks, and pre-onboarding readiness.
• Maintain complete and compliant recruiting documentation and records.

Compliance & Documentation

• Support HR compliance with Indian employment laws and contribute to policy alignment across geographies.
• Prepare and maintain HR documentation such as offer letters, contracts, employee communications, and HR reports.
• Support payroll inputs, audits, and coordination with Finance for both India and U.S. payroll cycles.

Employee Experience & Culture

• Help plan and execute employee engagement initiatives and events (virtual and in-person).
• Support performance management cycles, including tracking, communications, and follow-ups.
• Maintain and improve content in the internal Notion-based People Ops hub to ensure policies and resources remain accurate, current, and easy to access.

Special Projects

• Assist with rollout and adoption of HR technology tools, surveys, and people initiatives (e.g., engagement assessments, learning/training programs).
• Support compensation benchmarking, total rewards updates, and internal people reporting as needed.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in HR operations or HR generalist roles, ideally within a global organization.
• Experience supporting recruiting or working closely with Talent Acquisition teams.
• Strong knowledge of Indian employment laws and HR best practices; familiarity with U.S. HR practices is a plus.
• Experience with HR systems and tools (e.g., Ashby, Rippling, Notion, Excel, etc).
• Strong organizational skills and clear written/verbal communication.
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working across time zones.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Plus: Experience supporting or driving IIT hiring (campus recruiting, coordination, or engagement) is an advantage.
