Role Overview

As an experienced Import Export Manager at Powermax Fitness, you will play a critical role in overseeing all import, export, and logistics operations. The ideal candidate will ensure timely clearance of shipments, compliance with international trade regulations, cost optimization, and seamless coordination between suppliers, freight forwarders, customs agents, warehouses, and various internal departments. This is a challenging yet rewarding position that requires strong analytical skills and a keen understanding of logistics.

Key Responsibilities

Import Management

• Manage the complete import process from Purchase Order to warehouse delivery.
• Coordinate with overseas suppliers for shipment planning and documentation.
• Ensure timely booking of sea and air shipments while monitoring shipment schedules to minimize delays.
• Review and verify essential shipping documents including commercial invoices and Bills of Lading, ensuring compliance with customs clearances and minimizing additional costs through careful monitoring of demurrage and detention charges.
• Track container movement until final warehouse delivery.

Export Management

• Handle export documentation and execution, coordinating with international customers and logistics partners to ensure compliance with destination country regulations.
• Manage export incentives and statutory documentation where applicable.

Documentation & Compliance

• Ensure adherence to regulations such as DGFT, Customs, GST, IEC, FEMA, and maintain complete import and export documentation.
• Coordinate with banks for payment processes and maintain records necessary for audits.

Logistics & Freight Management

• Negotiate freight rates with shipping lines to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve delivery performance.
• Plan container utilization and shipment consolidation while monitoring transit times.

Inventory & Supply Planning

• Collaborate with the procurement team to maintain optimal inventory levels and support new product launches through effective import planning.

Reporting

• Prepare weekly and monthly shipment status reports while monitoring costs, duty payments, and maintaining KPI dashboards throughout the process.

Tech Stack

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as Tally, Vinculum, SAP, Oracle, or similar

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, International Business, Commerce, or a related field.
• Additional certification in Import-Export Management is preferred.
• 2-3 years of relevant experience in import/export operations.
• Experience in handling shipments from China and other international markets is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of international shipping and logistics.
• Knowledge of customs regulations and documentation.
• Freight negotiation and vendor management.
• Import costing and landed cost analysis.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (such as Tally, Vinculum, SAP, Oracle, or similar).
• Ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
