Role Overview

As an Industrial Automation Engineer at Impensus, you will play a crucial role in developing, programming, testing, and supporting PLC, HMI, and SCADA applications. This position requires hands-on involvement throughout the product development lifecycle, ensuring that our automation systems deliver efficient and reliable performance. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design and implement industrial control systems that integrate seamlessly with ongoing projects in the agriculture sector.

Key Responsibilities

• PLC Programming: Create and maintain PLC programs based on the functional specifications. Troubleshoot existing PLC applications and perform simulations and testing prior to deployment.
• HMI Development: Design user-friendly Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI) for operators. Configure key features such as alarms, trends, and recipes.
• SCADA Development: Develop and configure SCADA applications that ensure reliable monitoring and reporting of industrial processes.
• Industrial Communication: Setup and troubleshoot communication networks, ensuring efficient data exchange between different systems and devices.
• System Integration: Integrate various industrial components, including sensors, controllers, and communication devices to create cohesive systems.
• Production Support: Assist the production team with detailed wiring instructions and troubleshoot any issues that arise during manufacturing.
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive technical documentation for all projects, including software backups and configuration documents.
• Collaboration: Work alongside Electrical Design Engineers, Project Engineers, Installation Engineers, and the Product Development Team to achieve successful project execution.

Requirements

• Educational Qualification: Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Automation Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in industrial automation programming, with a focus on PLC, HMI, and SCADA development. Experience in industrial machine automation, process automation, refrigeration automation, or similar fields is preferred.
• Technical Skills:
  • PLC Programming: Familiarity with platforms such as Delta PLC, Allen-Bradley PLC.
  • HMI Development: Experience with Delta HMI and Schneider Electric HMI.
  • SCADA Applications: Proficiency in developing SCADA applications using industry-standard platforms.
  • Communication Protocols: Understanding of Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP/IP, RS-485, Ethernet/IP, and TCP/IP communications.
  • Electrical Knowledge: Knowledge of PLC I/O wiring, control panels, field devices, and industrial electrical drawings.
  • Software Skills: Proficient in PLC programming software, HMI development software, SCADA software, and Microsoft Office.
