Role Overview
We are seeking a Lighting Project Engineer to join our Asia/India operations based in Madhapur, Hyderabad. This full-time role involves designing, planning, and executing lighting projects for a diverse range of clients and applications. You will work closely with senior engineers, sales teams, contractors, and clients to deliver efficient, high-quality lighting solutions that meet performance standards and client expectations. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys tackling technical challenges, collaborating across departments, and contributing to impactful projects from conception to handover.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Planning
- Develop detailed lighting designs, layouts, and schematics using AutoCAD or similar software.
- Prepare and revise Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and Bills of Materials (BOM) based on project requirements and feedback.
- Handle project design preparations, including tender documents.
- Coordinate with multiple departments to ensure accurate and timely design deliverables.
Technical Support
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to LED drivers, control systems (DALI, DMX), wiring configurations, and other electrical components.
- Provide pre-programming support for controllers and drivers used in projects.
- Perform system testing, validation, and commissioning to ensure compliance with performance standards and specifications.
Project Coordination
- Support Product and Sales teams with Lighting Control System Design and BOQ preparation.
- Attend technical meetings with the sales team and coordinate with contractors, site supervisors, and project managers for proper project execution.
- Conduct on-site technical meetings, supervision, and testing as required.
- Oversee assembly processes and special product testing to ensure quality and functionality.
- Train installation/project teams, distributors, and distributor engineers on proposed systems, as needed.
- Lead project commissioning activities to ensure successful handover.
Documentation & Collaboration
- Maintain accurate records of project documentation, including drawings, BOQs, progress reports, and technical specifications.
- Ensure all documentation is up-to-date and accessible during project phases.
- Work closely with senior engineers, clients, and contractors to ensure smooth execution.
- Provide technical expertise during all project phases, from planning to installation and commissioning.
- Foster cross-departmental collaboration to align project goals and deliverables.
Tech Stack
- AutoCAD – for lighting designs, layouts, and schematics
- DALI (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface) – for digital control systems
- DMX (Digital Multiplex) – for advanced lighting control
- LED drivers and control systems – configuration and troubleshooting
- BOQ/BOM preparation tools (Excel, ERP systems)
- Testing/commissioning tools – for validation and compliance
Salary & Benefits
- Salary: Estimated ₹40,000 – ₹55,000 per month (commensurate with experience; negotiable)
- Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM (plus occasional evening shifts 5:00 PM – 2:00 AM)
