Role Overview

As a Manual Quality Assurance Engineer within the SIMBA Team, you will play a critical role in ensuring our product meets stringent quality standards before reaching our users. We are looking for a proactive individual who is passionate about quality assurance, possesses a curious mindset towards testing trends and industry standards, and is eager to make a real impact in a growing team. In this full-time remote position, you will be entrusted with developing and executing comprehensive test plans to maintain the high quality of our offerings.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute detailed manual test plans and test cases, ensuring comprehensive functional coverage across core user flows and edge cases.
• Conduct hands-on manual testing across various browsers and devices to verify new features, bug fixes, and software releases.
• Collaborate closely with engineering and product management teams to identify, document, and track defects, providing clear documentation of issues including expected vs. actual results.
• Maintain organized QA documentation including test cases, regression suites, test reports, and release validation summaries.
• Engage cross-functionally with the Product, Engineering, and Customer Support teams to prioritize issues based on user impact.
• Participate in Agile methodology practices including daily standups, sprint planning, and retrospectives to integrate QA seamlessly within the development lifecycle.
• Perform regression testing and release validation to ensure quality stability ahead of product launches.
• Continuously seek opportunities to enhance manual QA processes, testing coverage, and inter-team communication.

Tech Stack

• Major tools: Jira, Linear (for bug tracking and project management)
• Testing methodologies: Manual testing, regression testing, exploratory testing
• Technologies: Browser developer tools (for debugging)

• B.S. in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of experience in manual QA testing, with a strong focus on web applications
• Strong understanding of QA fundamentals including test planning, test case design, regression testing, exploratory testing, and bug reporting
• Experience working in Agile environments and collaborating cross-functionally with engineering and product teams
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to isolate root causes and communicate issues clearly
• Strong written communication skills, especially when documenting defects and test results
• Familiarity with tools like Jira, Linear, or similar bug tracking/project management systems
• Experience using browser developer tools to assist with debugging and issue reproduction

Nice-to-Have:

• Experience with accessibility testing and familiarity with WCAG guidelines
• Familiarity with text-to-speech technologies or audio-based products
• Exposure to test automation tools (even if not responsible for building automation)
• Experience validating APIs using tools like Postman
