Role Overview

As a Mechanical Piping Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing piping layouts and detailed engineering documentation for a range of industrial projects. You will utilize your expertise in software such as AutoCAD Plant 3D, Autodesk Inventor, and SolidWorks to create effective designs that meet industry standards and project requirements. Your work will support various teams and ensure efficient project execution while being part of a driven and technically proficient team.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop 3D piping models and layouts using AutoCAD Plant 3D.
• Create and maintain accurate equipment models and fabrication drawings using Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks.
• Prepare various engineering documentation including:
  • Piping Layouts
  • Isometric Drawings
  • General Arrangement (GA) Drawings
  • Fabrication Drawings
  • Equipment Arrangement Drawings
  • Pipe Support Details
  • Bill of Materials (BOM)
• Interpret P&IDs and other engineering drawings to guide project execution.
• Collaborate with process, piping, electrical, and fabrication teams throughout project lifecycle.
• Review designs to ensure adherence to manufacturability, installation feasibility, and engineering standards.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing and installation teams during the implementation of projects.
• Maintain comprehensive engineering documentation and uphold drawing standards in line with industry practices.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Mechanical/Piping Design Engineering
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Plant 3D
• Experience in Autodesk Inventor and/or SolidWorks
• Strong skills in mechanical design, piping design, and plant layout design
• Ability to interpret P&IDs and engineering drawings
• Knowledge in creating fabrication and isometric drawings
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Preferred Experience

• Knowledge or experience in one or more of the following areas will be an advantage:
  • Industrial Process Plants
