Role Overview

SalaryBox is looking for a motivated Mobile App Developer to join their early-stage startup and help accelerate growth. As a key member of a small, agile team, you will own the end-to-end development of mobile features—from API integration and local persistence to offline behavior and state management. You will be responsible for shipping features directly to millions of users, making this a high-impact role where your contributions are visible and valued. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, passionate about building robust mobile applications, and eager to take ownership of the product’s mobile architecture. You will be an integral part of decision-making processes and will help shape the technical direction of the app.

Key Responsibilities

• Ship features end to end, covering API integration, local persistence, offline behaviour, and state management.
• Own releases through Play Console and App Store Connect, including staged rollouts and post-release monitoring.
• Build and maintain the app architecture, ensuring scalability and performance.
• Handle platform-specific work such as permissions, background execution, push notifications, and deep links.
• Investigate crashes, ANRs (Application Not Responding), and performance regressions on real devices.
• Write unit and UI tests, and review code—including code generated with AI tools.
• Collaborate closely with product, design, and backend teams to deliver seamless user experiences.

1–3 years of experience building and shipping production mobile apps. Strong Kotlin and/or Swift experience with coroutines and Flow or async/await, and modern UI toolkits like Jetpack Compose and/or SwiftUI. Hands-on experience with REST/GraphQL via Retrofit/Ktor/URLSession, caching, and offline behaviour. Experience with Profiler/Instruments and Crashlytics for detecting crashes, ANRs, memory, and startup issues. Working fluency with AI coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) and ability to review, test, and correct AI-generated code. Proven ability to own releases through Play Console/App Store Connect, including signing, staged rollouts, and post-release monitoring.
