Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and motivated PLC Engineer to join our dynamic team at the Chennai Delivery Center. This is an immediate requirement for a professional with 4-6 years of hands-on experience in PLC programming, control system design, and industrial automation. You will lead the complete lifecycle of automation projects, from interpreting customer specifications to implementing robust, scalable control logic. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including electrical, mechanical, and software engineers to ensure seamless integration and high performance of automated systems. This role offers the opportunity to mentor junior engineers, participate in technical reviews, and drive continuous improvement in system design and deployment. You will also be responsible for site commissioning, debugging, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of PLC software for industrial automation systems.
• Translate customer specifications into functional PLC logic and control strategies.
• Develop and maintain HMI/SCADA interfaces for operator interaction and system monitoring.
• Integrate PLC software with hardware components, sensors, actuators, and other system modules.
• Conduct system testing, debugging, and commissioning at customer sites.
• Optimize PLC-controlled systems for performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical, mechanical, and software engineers.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical reviews and design improvements.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
• Maintain detailed documentation of software architecture, logic flow, and system configurations.

Tech Stack

• PLC Programming Languages: Ladder Logic, Structured Text, Function Block Diagram, Sequential Function Chart
• PLC Platforms: Siemens (TIA Portal, S7-1200/1500), Allen-Bradley (RSLogix/Studio 5000), Schneider Electric (EcoStruxure Control Expert), Mitsubishi (GX Works), or equivalent
• HMI/SCADA: WinCC, FactoryTalk View, Wonderware (Aveva), Intouch, or Ignition
• Communication Protocols: Profibus, Profinet, Modbus TCP/RTU, Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet, AS-i
• Software Tools: AutoCAD Electrical (for control schematics), MATLAB/Simulink (for simulation, preferred), and Office Suite
• Additional: Industrial networking, safety PLC (ISO 13849, SIL), VFD drives, and instrumentation knowledge

Education Requirements

• BE/BTech in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, or related engineering stream.
• OR Master's in Computer Application (MCA).
