Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled Production Manager – Assembly to control all assembly operational aspects of our BESS manufacturing facility. This role reports to the Head of Production and is responsible for production plant development, health & safety, and driving key result areas on production activities. The successful candidate will ensure achievement of production targets related to output, quality, cost, and delivery, while leading a large workforce including supervisors, engineers, and operators. They will also collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Automation, Maintenance, Quality, Planning, and Supply Chain teams to optimize performance and drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Production Management: Lead and manage end-to-end production activities for battery module and pack assembly lines, ensuring targets for output, quality, cost, and delivery are met or exceeded.
• Manufacturing Excellence: Drive operational excellence through Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives. Establish standardized work practices, process controls, and productivity enhancement programs.
• Automation & Process Optimization: Manage and optimize fully automated manufacturing lines for battery module and pack assembly. Collaborate with Engineering and Automation teams to improve equipment efficiency, uptime, and throughput. Lead process improvement projects to enhance automation effectiveness and reliability.
• Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a large production workforce including supervisors, engineers, and operators. Manage workforce planning, performance management, training, and succession planning. Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability, safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
• EHS & Compliance: Ensure strict compliance with Environment, Health & Safety regulations and company policies. Promote a strong safety culture, conduct regular safety reviews, risk assessments, and implement corrective action programs.
• Maintenance & Reliability: Work closely with the Maintenance team to maximize equipment availability and operational efficiency. Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and improve productivity.
• Reporting & Performance Management: Monitor and report key manufacturing KPIs including OEE, productivity, quality, yield, downtime, and cost performance. Drive corrective and preventive actions to achieve operational targets and business objectives.

• Automated assembly line equipment for Li-ion battery modules/packs
• Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• Data analytics tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) – preferred

B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics, or Industrial Engineering. 7–10 years of production management experience, preferably in battery/Li-ion/lead-acid manufacturing. Proven track record in managing automated production lines, Lean/Six Sigma, and workforce leadership.
