Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Project Manager to join our Chennai engineering team. In this role, you will lead and coordinate the development of electric motor, electronics, controls, and software projects from conception through to release. As the central point of coordination, you will ensure seamless collaboration between multidisciplinary engineering teams in Chennai and international ePropelled locations. Your primary mission is to deliver projects on time, within scope, and to the highest technical and commercial standards. You will bring structure, pace, and accountability, managing project schedules, risks, and dependencies while keeping engineering priorities aligned with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and manage electric motor, electronics, and software development projects from initiation to delivery.
• Coordinate cross-functional engineering teams including mechanical, electrical, motor-control, embedded software, and testing teams.
• Own and maintain project schedules, milestones, action items, and deliverables.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, issues, and dependencies.
• Conduct regular project meetings, providing clear and actionable progress reports to senior management.
• Facilitate prototype builds, testing, validation, and product release processes.
• Liaise with suppliers and international engineering teams to ensure timely procurement and integration of components and technologies.
• Ensure that engineering priorities and project objectives remain aligned, adjusting plans as necessary to meet changing business needs.
• Foster a collaborative, accountable, and results-driven team environment, promoting best practices in project management.

Tech Stack

• Project Management Tools: Jira, MS Project, or similar project management software.
• Engineering Domains: Electric motors, power electronics, motor control systems, embedded software, and hardware development.
• Technical Areas: Embedded C/C++, firmware development, PCB design, motor control algorithms, testing & validation tools.
• Collaboration Tools: Standard office and communication tools for international coordination.

Engineering degree in any discipline (required) or Program Management degree. Minimum 8–10 years of experience in a project management role. Proven experience in engineering or technology project management, with a preference for managing multidisciplinary development projects. Good understanding of electric motors, electronics, embedded software, or controls. Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively with both technical teams and senior management. Experience with project-management tools such as Jira, MS Project, or similar. Desirable: PMP certification. Experience in electric vehicles, electric motors, power electronics, automotive, aerospace, industrial automation, or embedded systems.
