Role Overview

We are seeking a hands-on QA Engineer – Quality Engineering & Automation to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of enterprise applications, APIs, integrations, and digital solutions. This position requires a blend of manual testing and test automation skills. You will be a key contributor in understanding requirements, developing comprehensive test scenarios, executing functional and regression testing, building and maintaining automated tests, and validating APIs and integrations. The ideal candidate goes beyond executing predefined test cases, demonstrating the ability to understand solution behaviour, identify potential failure points, investigate defects, automate repetitive tasks, and clearly communicate quality risks to the delivery team.

Key Responsibilities

• Manual & Functional Testing: Analyze business requirements, user stories, and technical specifications to develop comprehensive test scenarios, test cases, test data, and checklists. Execute functional, regression, integration, system, smoke, sanity, exploratory, and end-to-end testing across web applications and responsive interfaces. Identify requirement gaps, inconsistencies, and potential quality risks early in the development lifecycle.
• Test Automation: Develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts for web applications and APIs using tools like Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright. Contribute to existing automation frameworks, identify suitable scenarios for automation, and debug failures to distinguish between application defects, automation issues, and environment errors. Collaborate with QA and DevOps teams to integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• API & Integration Testing: Test REST APIs and system integrations using Postman. Validate request/response payloads, HTTP status codes, authentication, and business rules. Test positive and negative API scenarios, system-to-system data flows, and third-party integrations. Verify error handling, retries, and validation behaviours.
• Database & Data Validation: Use SQL to validate application data, ensuring consistency between user interfaces, APIs, databases, and integrated systems. Validate create/update/delete operations, complex business transactions, and data quality.
• Defect Management & Troubleshooting: Identify, reproduce, document, and track defects through resolution. Create clear defect reports with detailed evidence. Participate in defect triage, retesting, and root cause analysis. Distinguish between application defects, environment issues, integration failures, and data problems.
• Release & Production Validation: Support testing across development, QA, UAT, staging, and production environments. Perform smoke and sanity testing after deployments and verify critical business functionality before and after production releases.
• Quality Engineering & Collaboration: Work closely with developers, QA leads, project managers, and business analysts. Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives. Contribute to improving QA processes, standards, and practices.
• AI-Assisted Quality Engineering: Use approved AI-assisted tools to enhance productivity in test case generation, automation development, and defect analysis. Follow organizational guidelines for responsible AI usage and data security.

3-6 years of hands-on Software Quality Assurance / Quality Engineering experience. Practical experience with both manual testing and test automation. Strong understanding of SDLC and STLC. Hands-on experience with automation tools like Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress. Proficiency in Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Python. Experience with REST API testing using Postman. Working knowledge of SQL and database validation. Experience with defect/test management tools (Jira, Azure DevOps, TestRail, etc.). Familiarity with Git/version control. Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines. Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
