Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Automation Test Engineer to join our quality assurance team in Pune. This role is critical to ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our software applications through automated testing. You will design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts using Playwright and TypeScript. Working closely with developers, business analysts, and QA teams, you will identify test requirements, automate test cases, and integrate testing into continuous integration and delivery pipelines. The ideal candidate has a strong background in test automation, a passion for quality, and the ability to drive best practices across the team. You will be responsible for automating tests across Web, Cloud, API, and Windows/Desktop applications, contributing to the overall product quality from early development stages through production.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks using Playwright and TypeScript.
• Automate functional, regression, smoke, and end-to-end testing for web, cloud, API, and Windows/Desktop applications.
• Integrate automated tests with CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions.
• Create and maintain test plans, test reports, and automation metrics to track quality and coverage.
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and business analysts to understand requirements and define test strategies.
• Perform API testing for RESTful services and ensure data-driven testing with Page Object Model (POM) and fixtures.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues in automation scripts and test execution.
• Contribute to performance testing using JMeter as a preferred skill.
• Maintain version control using Git and manage test artifacts in Jira.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and advocate for quality throughout the development lifecycle.

5+ years of Test Automation experience; 3+ years with Playwright and TypeScript; Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; Strong proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript; Hands-on experience with Playwright automation framework; Experience with API automation and REST testing; Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions); Knowledge of Git, Jira, Agile methodologies; Exposure to Windows/Desktop application testing; Preferred: JMeter performance testing
