Role Overview

We are on the lookout for a Senior Data Engineer to join our expanding Data Engineering team. This pivotal role requires the individual to design, develop, and maintain components within our robust data stack, which processes approximately a terabyte of data within the personal banking domain. In this position, you will be crucial in converting business requirements into scalable, production-ready solutions while working under minimal supervision. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that our solutions meet development standards and align with industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain data processing frameworks.
• Translate complex business requirements into effective technical solutions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to validate that implementations align with technical standards.
• Ensure the delivery of high-performance scalable systems while maintaining expected uptime.
• Take full ownership of the entire software development lifecycle, from design through deployment.
• Optimize processes related to data management and support existing data architecture.

• 10+ years of experience in software development.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in cloud-based Data Engineering solutions.
• Expertise in Python, PySpark, Dataproc, Cloud Functions, and Airflow Composer.
• Proficiency with NoSQL databases like BigQuery and Firestore.
• Strong grasp of data warehousing and database design principles.
• Advanced SQL skills and experience with query optimization.
• Proven ability to manage large-scale datasets and build high-performance applications.
• Strong collaboration skills and ability to take full ownership of solution design, implementation, and release.
• Familiarity with GIT workflows for version control.
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or similar cloud ecosystems.
• Experience with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and management.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
