Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Design Engineer (3D-2D) with 4 to 6 years of hands-on experience in mechanical layout design pertaining to bulk material handling and pneumatic conveying systems. The successful candidate will play a vital role in the accuracy and timely delivery of 3D models and 2D general arrangement (GA)/fabrication drawings for turnkey projects. This position involves close coordination with civil, piping, and electrical teams as well as mentorship of junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review plant/equipment layouts ensuring equipment placement complies with process and layout requirements.
• Verify that maintenance access and safety standards are integrated into layouts per engineering review benchmarks.
• Develop 3D models including equipment and utilities with thorough assembly details and conduct clash/interference detection.
• Produce precise 2D GA and fabrication drawings, minimizing revision cycles to a target of fewer than two per drawing.
• Plan and monitor design deliverables to align with project schedules ensuring timely drawing releases.
• Actively coordinate with civil, piping, and electrical departments to resolve interface issues within designated turnaround times (less than 48 hours).
• Drive engineering optimization initiatives to reduce equipment footprint and improve maintenance accessibility, documenting all improvements.
• Mentor junior engineers through reviews and training sessions, contributing to a reduction in design errors.
• Ensure adherence to design standards, quality assurance checks, and proper documentation practices.

• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D) and a 3D modeling platform (e.g., SolidWorks).

• Ability to run and resolve clash/interference detection across multi-discipline models.
• Strong coordination and communication skills.
