Role Overview

We are on the lookout for a Senior Engineer / Assistant Manager specializing in Injection Moulding, who will take the lead in our production operations at our plant located in SIPCOT Industrial Park, Irungattukottai, Chennai. The successful candidate will exhibit technical prowess in injection moulding and demonstrate strong managerial skills to oversee and mentor our production teams. Given the potential for growth within the company, this role offers a pathway to advance into an Operations Manager position.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day injection moulding production and manage shop floor operations effectively.
• Optimize moulding processes to ensure high-quality and productive outputs, consistently meeting delivery schedules.
• Identify and troubleshoot moulding defects, instituting permanent corrective measures to improve quality.
• Oversee the preventive maintenance and breakdown repair of moulds, machines, and auxiliary equipment.
• Monitor and analyze production metrics including targets, machine utilization, scrap rates, cycle times, and overall downtime.
• Mentor and guide operators, setters, and supervisors, fostering a disciplined and cooperative work environment.
• Drive continuous improvement efforts aimed at minimizing scrap, increasing Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), and enhancing overall productivity.
• Ensure compliance with Quality, Safety, and IATF/customer standards throughout production processes.

Requirements

• Diploma / B.E. in Mechanical, Production, Polymer, or Plastic Engineering or related field.
• 6 - 8 years of experience in Plastic Injection Moulding, preferably in the automotive industry.
• Strong knowledge of injection moulding processes, moulds, and machine maintenance.
• Solid leadership, communication, planning, and problem-solving skills.
• Proven experience in managing production teams and meeting operational targets.
• Hands-on experience in production operations and troubleshooting.
