Role Overview

As a Senior Java Engineer / Tech Lead, you will be a first-level manager owning a specific module within the Kapture product suite. You will lead a small team of 2–4 engineers, driving design, development, and delivery of high-performance, scalable backend systems that power mission-critical enterprise and SaaS applications. This role is based in Bangalore with a five-day in-office schedule (in-person collaboration is emphasised for innovation and agility). You will directly engage with external clients, internal implementation, support, and product teams, ensuring system stability, SLA adherence, and timely delivery against business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Own individual modules within the Kapture suite of products – from requirement analysis and design through to deployment and maintenance.
• Translate business requirements into clear technical specifications and ensure delivery within defined timelines.
• Ensure system uptime, reliability, and SLA adherence for your assigned module.
• Directly manage a team of 2–4 engineers, including sprint planning, task delegation, mentoring, code review, and performance management.
• Independently engage with external clients and cross-functional teams (implementation, support, product) to gather requirements and address issues related to your module.
• Contribute to backend architecture decisions, focusing on scalability, maintainability, and performance.
• Write clean, testable, and well-documented code following industry best practices.

6–8 years of hands-on overall experience in Java development; strong expertise in Spring Boot and microservices architecture; experience building enterprise-scale systems for global customers; proficiency in MySQL and relational databases; deep understanding of multithreading, performance optimization, and design patterns; ability to write clean, testable, maintainable code; strong communication skills; experience leading a small team (2–4 engineers) and managing sprints.
