Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer who will take charge of designing and developing industrial machinery and engineered systems. The ideal candidate will possess a strong skill set in machine design, product development, 3D CAD modeling, and engineering calculations. This role requires involvement from initial concept through to manufacturing execution, ensuring high-quality outcomes aligned with customer needs.

Key Responsibilities

Mechanical Design & Development

• Lead the design and development of Special Purpose Machines (SPMs), Material Handling Systems, and Packaging Machines.
• Develop detailed machine concepts and layouts, including mechanisms, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings.
• Conduct comprehensive engineering calculations for structures, drives, and machine components.
• Select standard components such as motors, gearboxes, and pneumatic systems.
• Prepare thorough manufacturing and assembly documentation, including BOMs.

Project Execution

• Interpret customer requirements and translate them into effective engineering solutions.
• Actively participate in customer meetings and design reviews.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and procurement teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure compliance with relevant engineering standards and safety regulations.
• Support the development of prototypes, assembly, testing, and commissioning of machinery.

Technical Leadership

• Mentor junior design engineers, guiding them in design practices.
• Review and approve engineering drawings and deliverables.
• Maintain comprehensive engineering documentation and design standards.
• Initiate and drive continuous improvement initiatives within the team.

Tech Stack

• Knowledge of Pneumatics and Motion Control Systems
• Familiarity with PDM/PLM systems and standards like CE, ISO, ASME.

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5–10 years of experience in industrial machine design.
• Strong knowledge of machine elements, manufacturing processes, and engineering standards.
• Experience in designing Special Purpose Machines (SPMs), Material Handling Systems, Packaging Machinery, Conveyors, or Industrial Automation Equipment.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, Creo, or similar 3D CAD software.
• Strong understanding of engineering calculations, component sizing, and mechanical assemblies.
• Knowledge of Pneumatics, Motion Control Systems, and Manufacturing Documentation.
• Ability to independently manage projects from concept to manufacturing release.
• Preferred: Experience with PDM/PLM systems, knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis, exposure to Finite Element Analysis (FEA), experience working directly with customers, vendors, and manufacturing teams, knowledge of CE, ISO, ASME, or other international engineering standards.
