Role Overview

The Senior Production Planning Engineer will lead production planning activities within the valve manufacturing unit. This role is critical to ensure that production schedules are optimized, resources are allocated efficiently, and customer demands are met on time. The engineer will collaborate with procurement, operations, quality, and engineering teams to maintain smooth production flow while adhering to quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Production Scheduling: Develop and manage detailed production schedules for valve manufacturing to meet customer demand, optimize resource use, and minimize downtime. Coordinate with engineering and production teams to align manufacturing plans with capacity.
• Resource Management: Plan and allocate materials, equipment, and labor. Work with procurement to ensure raw materials and components are available when needed.
• Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels to avoid overstocking and ensure material availability. Coordinate with supply chain for demand forecasting and stock optimization.
• Lead Time Optimization: Analyze production lead times and identify opportunities to reduce delays. Improve workflows for on-time delivery.
• Production Coordination: Collaborate with production, engineering, and QA teams to align manufacturing processes with quality standards. Address bottlenecks promptly.
• Capacity Planning: Align production capacity with forecasted demand. Adjust plans for demand fluctuations to minimize disruption.
• Process Improvement: Continuously analyze processes for efficiency, quality, and cost reduction improvements.
• Reporting & Documentation: Prepare regular reports on production status, schedules, and inventory. Provide data-driven insights to management.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Liaise with procurement, quality, and engineering to ensure materials meet standards and design changes are integrated into schedules.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure planning activities comply with safety regulations and promote a safety-first culture.
• Customer Communication: Coordinate with sales and customer service to communicate schedule changes and manage expectations.

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in production planning, preferably in valve manufacturing or similar industrial environment.
• Strong understanding of production planning processes, inventory control, and scheduling techniques.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (BAAN, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Knowledge of valve manufacturing processes (casting, machining, assembly, testing) and related materials.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process optimization methodologies (desirable).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
