Role Overview

We are looking for an elite engineering leader to transform our Quality Assurance processes into a modern, proactive Quality Engineering (QE) culture. With 12+ years of experience and deep roots in the financial technology sector, you will architect our automation strategy, scale a world-class testing organization, and ensure that our mission-critical systems process high-volume, low-latency transactions with zero data loss, strict compliance, and absolute security.

Key Responsibilities

• Domain-Driven Testing: Design comprehensive test strategies for financial primitives including double-entry ledgers, payment gateways (UPI, ACH, SWIFT), reconciliation engines, and fraud-prevention logic.
• Regulatory & Security Compliance: Partner with InfoSec and Compliance teams to ensure adherence to PCI-DSS, SOC2, GDPR, and localized banking regulations.
• Edge-Case Simulation: Champion testing of race conditions, concurrent transaction processing, and network partition failures to ensure system resilience.
• Shift-Left & CI/CD: Integrate test automation as a non-negotiable gate in CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab, or GitHub Actions.
• Automation Architecture: Drive the technical evolution of test frameworks across Microservices/APIs, Web, and Mobile using tools like Playwright, Cypress, Rest Assured, and Appium.
• Performance & Chaos Engineering: Oversee load, stress, and volume testing for peak transaction days; introduce chaos engineering practices.
• Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and scale a global team of SDETs, QA Leads, and Manual Domain Experts.
• Data-Driven Execution: Define and publish key quality metrics (escape defect rate, test coverage, automation ROI, deployment frequency) to the executive team.

• Proven ability to negotiate Go/No-Go release decisions with product and business leaders.

Technical Mastery

• Ability to review PRs, critique test framework architectures, and write SQL queries for data migration validation.
• Deep expertise in testing distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ) on cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Proficiency in modern automation stacks (Playwright, Cypress, Rest Assured, Appium), performance tools (JMeter, Gatling, K6), and observability platforms (Datadog, Splunk, New Relic).
