Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Labor Planning & Forecasting to join our engineering team in Bangalore or Pune. This role involves building high-performance, data-driven Java enterprise applications that implement sophisticated scheduling and optimization algorithms. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for the implementation and evolution of the core application, writing secure, efficient, enterprise-quality Java code, and ensuring scalability and performance. You will work closely with the CTO/Architect to design and deliver features with high quality and on time, while also mentoring team members and upholding high code standards. This is a hybrid position (remote + office) based in Bangalore or Pune.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop features with high quality and on time, adhering to best coding practices including performance and user experience.
• Assist with feature design alongside the CTO/Architect.
• Own product quality, including writing unit tests and collaborating with QA engineers for end-to-end testing.
• Fix incoming bugs daily, meeting bug resolution goals and SLAs.
• Be able to demo the Legion product end-to-end.
• Devise robust solutions that enable rapid feature delivery in a scalable and performant manner.
• Design, build, and support applications from end to end, making data-driven technical decisions.
• Debug and solve complex technical problems using deep technical knowledge.
• Identify and resolve ambiguities in requirements with various stakeholders.
• Contribute to long-term team charter and quarterly planning.
• Mentor other engineers, conduct design reviews and code reviews, and maintain high code quality standards.
• Work with QA team to make features production-ready.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline
• 7-8 years with backend technologies (Java, Spring Boot, MySQL)
• 7-8 years working on building multi-tenant SaaS applications
• 7-8 years experience with designing and building APIs
• 5+ years delivering software in a cloud-based environment (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Professional software development experience
• Proficiency in Java or C++, and object-oriented design skills
• Application architecture and design patterns
• Experience serving as technical lead throughout the full software development lifecycle is preferred
• Knowledge of professional software engineering best practices
• Experience in distributed/scalable systems and high-volume transaction applications
• Proven ability to lead projects from inception to production
• Strong mastery in communication skills, software architecture design, writing technical documents
