Role Overview

Ontic is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Frontend) to take the lead in developing complex user interfaces and frontend systems for their SaaS platform. This role requires experienced engineers who can independently drive features, own significant parts of the frontend architecture, and contribute towards the team's technical direction. The successful candidate will focus on designing scalable frontend solutions while collaborating with other teams on backend integration.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development of complex frontend features using JavaScript, TypeScript, React, HTML, and CSS.
• Translate ambiguous product requirements into scalable, maintainable solutions.
• Own the end-to-end delivery process for features, from design to production rollout.
• Drive enhancements in UI architecture, application performance, and user experience.
• Integrate frontend applications effectively with backend APIs and services.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Backend teams to define solutions and API contracts.
• Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and communicate technical details effectively.
• Manage the debugging and resolution of complex production issues, ensuring high reliability and performance of frontend applications.

Qualifications & Experience

• 5 to 7 years of software engineering experience with a strong focus on frontend development.
• Expert proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Strong hands-on experience with React and TypeScript in production environments.
• Solid understanding of frontend architecture, state management, and component-driven development.
• Experience designing and building scalable, high-performance web applications.
• Strong understanding of browser internals, rendering behavior, and performance optimization.
• Experience with frontend testing strategies and frameworks such as Vitest, Jest, and React Testing Library.
• Proficiency with modern frontend tooling and build systems.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills across development and production environments.
• Experience working with REST APIs and distributed systems.
• Working knowledge of backend concepts, including:

• Ability to work independently and drive initiatives to completion.
