Role Overview

As a Site Reliability Engineer at Theom, you will be instrumental in ensuring the reliability and performance of a multi-tenant SaaS platform. This role involves deep engagement with production systems across various technology stacks, such as Linux, AWS, Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code. You will troubleshoot complex production issues and work closely with cross-functional teams to improve and maintain the operational health of the platform. This position requires a hands-on approach, focusing on root-cause analysis, scaling solutions, and optimizing automation processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Enhance the reliability, performance, and scalability of Theom’s SaaS platform by establishing and monitoring service level objectives (SLOs) and fostering observability across systems.
• Diagnose and resolve complex Linux performance challenges, including resource contention and scheduling issues.
• Design and manage networks utilizing TCP/IP protocols, DNS, load balancers, and cloud VPC setup to optimize performance and security.
• Operate and secure AWS/Azure services, including EKS, EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, and more, ensuring effective management and security measures are in place.
• Maintain production Kubernetes environments, focusing on upgrades, autoscaling configurations, and safe deployment practices.
• Develop and manage Terraform modules and CI/CD pipelines to streamline infrastructure as code workflows.
• Lead incident investigation efforts, collaborating with Product, Engineering, and customer teams to improve overall platform reliability.

Salary

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field involving coding, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Platform Engineering, DevOps, or a similar production reliability role.
• Deep Linux systems experience with proven performance and reliability troubleshooting in production.
• Strong networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/TLS, load balancers, and cloud VPC networking with hands-on debugging skills.
• Proficiency in programming or scripting (Python, Go, or similar).
• Advanced production experience with AWS/Azure (compute, networking, IAM, containers/orchestration, observability).
• Extensive Kubernetes experience operating production clusters (preferably EKS): networking, security, scaling, and failure diagnosis.
• Advanced Terraform / CloudFormation / infrastructure-as-code skills: modules, state, CI/CD for infrastructure, GitLab.
• Familiarity with observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, metrics, logs, traces) and turning signals into actionable SLOs and alerts.
• Ability to solve complex problems in distributed systems and multi-tenant SaaS environments at scale.
• Working knowledge of SQL, technical logs, APIs, and architecture diagrams.
• Excellent communication skills; able to articulate root causes clearly under incident pressure and explain to engineers and stakeholders.
• Comfortable and productive in a remote/hybrid collaboration model with global time zones.
