Role Overview

We are on the lookout for a motivated and eager Junior Java Developer / Backend Development Intern to join our Cloud Engineering team. The selected candidate will possess a solid foundation in Java development and backend systems, coupled with a passion for learning and improving in a dynamic product development environment. Ideal candidates should be ready to engage in hands-on development and contribute to creating solutions that harness the power of AI and Robotics.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain robust backend services and APIs.
• Write clean, scalable, and maintainable Java code.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Mobile, AI, Robotics, Product, and Design.
• Optimize performance, conduct debugging, and troubleshoot backend applications effectively.
• Participate in code reviews and adhere to engineering best practices.
• Contribute to feature development and enhancements of the product.
• Stay up-to-date with modern backend technologies and development methodologies.

Requirements

• Experience: 6 months to 1 year of hands-on experience in Java development.
• Core Java: Strong understanding of Core Java concepts.
• Java Advanced: Experience with Java Multithreading and Concurrency.
• Frameworks: Familiarity with Java frameworks like Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Servlets, or similar.
• Operating Systems: Hands-on experience in Linux/Ubuntu environments.
• Databases: Experience with SQL databases (MySQL or PostgreSQL).
• Version Control: Proficient in using Git for source code management.
• Modern Development Practices: Familiar with coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT) and REST APIs.

Good to Have

• Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB).
• Familiarity with Redis.
• Exposure to Microservices architecture and Vert.x framework.
• Knowledge of Kafka or messaging systems.
• Experience with WebSockets and API testing tools (e.g., Postman).
• Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
