Role Overview

As a Software Engineer focused on Data Infrastructure and Acquisition, you will be an integral part of our AI team. Your primary responsibility will include ensuring efficient data collection that supports our machine learning model training. By leveraging cutting-edge technology and practices, you will help us create scalable datasets to drive our product's evolution.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and secure new audio data sources to enhance our ingestion pipeline.
• Operate and expand our cloud infrastructure, currently hosted on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and managed via Terraform.
• Collaborate closely with data scientists to optimize the cost, throughput, and quality of our datasets, allowing for richer data feeds at larger scales.
• Work alongside fellow AI team members and leadership to design a comprehensive roadmap for dataset development to propel Speechify's innovative consumer and enterprise solutions.

• Tools & Technologies: Docker, Terraform, web crawlers, large-scale data processing workflows

• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or a related field.
• 5+ years of industry experience in software development.
• Proficiency with bash/Python scripting in Linux environments.
• Proficiency in Docker and Infrastructure-as-Code.
• Professional experience with at least one major Cloud Provider (preferably GCP).
• Experience with web crawlers and large-scale data processing workflows is a plus.
• Strong ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities.
