Role Overview

In this exciting role as a Software Engineer focusing on Data Infrastructure and Acquisition, you will be part of Speechify's AI team. Our team operates without offices and consists of around 200 professionals from various prestigious backgrounds, offering a unique opportunity in a fully remote environment. You will be responsible for all aspects of data collection that support our model training initiatives. The successful candidate will implement innovative strategies for high-quality, low-cost data acquisition at a petabyte scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Discover and procure new audio data sources for our data ingestion pipeline.
• Manage and expand the cloud infrastructure for our ingestion pipeline, currently utilizing GCP and Terraform.
• Collaborate with data scientists to improve cost, throughput, and quality of data delivered.
• Work alongside AI Team members and leadership to design the dataset roadmap for future consumer and enterprise products.

• Data Processing: Web crawlers, large-scale data processing workflows.

• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years of industry experience in software development.
• Proficiency with bash/Python scripting in Linux environments.
• Proficiency in Docker and Infrastructure-as-Code concepts.
• Professional experience with at least one major Cloud Provider (Experience with GCP is preferred).
• Familiarity with web crawlers and large-scale data processing workflows is a plus.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
