Role Overview

The Software Testing & Quality Engineering Intern position provides an exciting opportunity for final-year students or recent graduates looking to make a significant start in their careers. This internship focuses on equipping candidates with the necessary skills for a successful transition into Software Tester or Quality Engineer roles. The intern will gain practical experience in various aspects of quality engineering while working alongside knowledgeable professionals in the field.

Key Responsibilities

• Learning & Full-Time Readiness (25%)

  • Complete training on product functionality, QA processes, Agile methodologies, and testing tools within the first 45 days.
  • Acquire proficiency in functional, regression, integration, and API testing.
  • Develop an understanding of automation testing frameworks and AI-assisted testing tools.
  • Shadow QA Engineers during feature development and release cycles.

• Test Execution & Quality Validation (30%)

  • Execute assigned test cases and scenarios as per the release schedule.
  • Validate application functionality against business requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Participate in regression, integration, and user acceptance testing activities.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of test execution results.
  • Support release readiness validation with minimal supervision.

• Defect Management & Troubleshooting Support (25%)

  • Identify, document, and track software defects using approved management tools.
  • Create comprehensive bug reports that include critical information such as screenshots and replication steps.
  • Validate defect fixes and conduct retesting prior to releases.
  • Assist development teams in troubleshooting reported issues and supporting root-cause analysis.

• Testing Documentation & Knowledge Management (20%)

  • Maintain test cases, scripts, and execution reports.
  • Create UAT guides and release validation documentation.
  • Update product knowledge repositories and QA documentation.
  • Ensure all documentation is current and aligned with product updates.

Tech Stack

• Testing Tools: Postman, Jira, Azure DevOps
• Automation Tools: Selenium, Playwright (exposure beneficial)
• Programming/Markup: SQL, JSON
• Methodologies: SDLC, STLC, Agile, AI-assisted testing

Requirements

Education

• Final-year student or recent graduate in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.

Technical Skills

• Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
• Knowledge of Functional, Regression, Integration, and User Acceptance Testing.
• Basic understanding of REST APIs, JSON, and API testing concepts.
• Familiarity with Postman, Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
• Basic SQL knowledge for data validation and testing.
• Exposure to Selenium, Playwright, or other automation tools is a strong advantage.
• Interest in AI-assisted testing and modern quality engineering practices.

Documentation & Communication

• Strong written communication skills.
• Ability to create structured test cases, bug reports, release notes, and UAT documentation.
• Ability to translate testing results into clear and actionable reports for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
