Role Overview

As the Tech Lead for our Android Core Product, you will play a pivotal role in the growth of our Android application, which is the leading text-to-speech app on the Play Store. We are seeking someone who is strategic, thrives in fast-paced environments, and is passionate about refining user experiences. The right candidate will make significant contributions to product decisions and facilitate efficient leadership within our flat organizational structure.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of significant app features and collaborate with the design team to deliver high-quality outputs.
• Shape the future direction of our Android division.
• Maintain and improve key feature reliability metrics.
• Engage actively with product, design, and engineering teams during discussions.
• Support peers through pull request reviews and mentorship.
• Navigate critical issues and manage unforeseen challenges effectively.
• Ensure feature readiness and provide nightly builds for the QA team.

• 5+ years of software engineering experience
• Familiarity with Android components
• Experience building or contributing to at least one Android app
• Strong product design intuition and user empathy
• Passion for enhancing Android UI/UX
• Understanding of testing importance and practices
• Self-driven with a commitment to improve the app and codebase
• Proficient in Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines, Kotlin Flow, Dagger 2, MVVM, Clean Architecture, Background Services, Music Player Service, Android Animations, Jetpack Navigation, JUnit tests
• Excellent communication skills
• User-oriented problem-solving approach
• Driven by continuous feedback and improvement
