Role Overview

As we experience exponential growth in our Android app, we seek a Tech Lead for Android Core Product to enhance user engagement and drive innovative projects. This strategic role is designed for an accomplished engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is passionate about product design, and possesses a strong analytical mindset. Our flat organizational structure empowers individuals to showcase their technical skills while achieving impactful results.

Key Responsibilities

• Own major features within the app and work closely with the design team to deliver high-quality features.
• Shape the evolution of our Android team and take responsibility for maintaining and improving reliability metrics for core functionalities.
• Engage in cross-disciplinary discussions involving Product, Design, and Engineering teams.
• Review code through pull requests and provide support to teammates.
• Address critical issues and adapt to unexpected challenges promptly.
• Oversee feature releases and ensure nightly builds are available for the QA team.

Tech Stack

• Primary Technologies: Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines, Kotlin Flow, Dagger 2, Jetpack Navigation, Room.
• UI Development: Custom Views, Canvas & Paint, Jetpack Compose.
• Testing: JUnit.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong familiarity with Android components.
• Proven experience building or contributing to at least one Android app.
• Product design intuition and user empathy.
• Passion to push the boundaries of Android UI/UX.
• Understanding of the significance of writing tests and experience in it.
• Proactive in improving the application and codebase beyond the specifications.
