Role Overview

As the Tech Lead for our Android Core Product, you will be instrumental in driving the future of our Android app, which is the most utilized text-to-speech solution in the Play Store. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is passionate about providing excellent user experiences, and possesses strong technical leadership abilities. You will be expected to deliver high-quality features that not only enhance user engagement but also streamline the performance of our application.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of major app features and collaborate closely with the design team.
• Shape the future direction of our Android team by promoting effective practices.
• Maintain and improve reliability metrics for key features, ensuring a smooth user experience.
• Engage in cross-team discussions, collaborating effectively with Product, Design, and Engineering teams.
• Review pull requests and provide support to fellow team members.
• Manage and resolve critical issues while adapting to unexpected challenges.
• Supervise feature releases, providing nightly builds to the QA team for testing.

Salary

Estimated at ₹1,00,000 - ₹1,80,000 per month, depending on experience and qualifications.

• 5+ years of software engineering experience
• Familiarity with Android components
• Experience in building or contributing to at least one Android app
• Product design intuition and user empathy
• Understanding of the importance of tests and how to write them
• Proficient in Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines, Kotlin Flow, Dagger 2, MVVM, Clean Architecture, Background Services, Music Player Service, Android Animations, Jetpack Navigation, JUnit tests
• Excellent communication skills
• User-oriented problem-solving approach
• Self-driven to improve the app and codebase
• Drive to innovate Android UI/UX
