Role Overview The Technical Lead – Design Thinking & Methodology (DTM) will be based at the Centre of Excellence in Design (D‑CoE) at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore. This is a full‑time, contract position responsible for planning, delivering, and overseeing training programmes in Design Thinking and Engineering Design Methodology. The role involves teaching structured design processes, mentoring multidisciplinary teams, supervising design projects, and coordinating technical programmes focused on innovation, product development, and real‑world engineering problem‑solving. The ideal candidate will guide participants through the complete design journey—from problem identification and user research to prototyping, simulation, and final design delivery.

Master's degree in Product Design, Industrial Design, Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Innovation Design, or closely related discipline. Prior professional experience in product design, engineering design, design consulting, innovation, R&D, or product development. Experience in teaching, technical training, mentoring, or facilitating engineering/design students preferred. Experience in academic institutions, innovation centres, incubators, R&D organisations, or capacity‑building programmes desirable. Excellent presentation, facilitation, and communication skills. Maximum age 45 years with applicable relaxation as per Government of India norms.
