Role Overview

BETSOL is seeking an experienced Telephony Engineer (Avaya) to support a large-scale Avaya environment upgrade and datacenter migration for an enterprise client. This is a fully remote position open to candidates located in India, with a workday requiring overlap with U.S. Eastern Time until at least noon on U.S. business days. The role involves researching, auditing, cleaning up, and cutting over existing Avaya configurations as the environment transitions from ESXi 7 to ESXi 8 and prepares for relocation to modern CoLo datacenter facilities. The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on experience with Avaya Aura Communication Manager, media gateways, and server infrastructure, along with strong analytical and organizational skills to manage complex migration tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Research, audit, and clean up existing Avaya configurations (dial plans, route patterns, trunk groups, VDN/vectors, hunt groups, stations)
• Execute cutover of configurations to new and upgraded systems during the migration
• Administer Avaya Aura Communication Manager (CM) environments, including version upgrades and translation backup/restore
• Program and maintain VDNs and vectors for call routing logic
• Configure and maintain hunt groups, skill-splits, and station/endpoint administration, including bulk moves, adds, and changes
• Manage announcements administration and G450 Media Gateway configurations (network regions, IP codec sets, DSP resource allocation)
• Support S8300 Server and LSP/ESS administration
• Utilize Avaya Site Administration (ASA) and SAT command-line tools for bulk translation operations
• Interpret and analyze CDR (Call Detail Recording) data as required
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless migration and minimal downtime

Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience as an Avaya Telephony Engineer or Voice Engineer. Must have proven experience with Avaya Aura Communication Manager 10.2 administration, including dial plans, route patterns, trunk groups. Strong proficiency in VDN/vector programming and station/endpoint administration with bulk moves/adds/changes. Hands-on experience with Avaya G450 Media Gateway logic, network regions, IP codec sets, and DSP resource allocation. Proficiency in Avaya Site Administration (ASA) and SAT command-line, including bulk translation tools. Experience with translation backup/restore and Communication Manager version migrations. Ability to interpret CDR data. Preferred: experience with Avaya IX Messaging or Avaya Aura Messaging migration (Modular Messaging). Strong analytical and communication skills; ability to work overlapping U.S. Eastern Time until noon.
