BETSOL is seeking an experienced Telephony Engineer (Avaya) to support a large-scale Avaya environment upgrade and datacenter migration for an enterprise client. This is a fully remote position open to candidates located in India, with a workday requiring overlap with U.S. Eastern Time until at least noon on U.S. business days. The role involves researching, auditing, cleaning up, and cutting over existing Avaya configurations as the environment transitions from ESXi 7 to ESXi 8 and prepares for relocation to modern CoLo datacenter facilities. The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on experience with Avaya Aura Communication Manager, media gateways, and server infrastructure, along with strong analytical and organizational skills to manage complex migration tasks.
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a critical infrastructure modernization project, working remotely with a global team while leveraging deep Avaya expertise.
Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience as an Avaya Telephony Engineer or Voice Engineer. Must have proven experience with Avaya Aura Communication Manager 10.2 administration, including dial plans, route patterns, trunk groups. Strong proficiency in VDN/vector programming and station/endpoint administration with bulk moves/adds/changes. Hands-on experience with Avaya G450 Media Gateway logic, network regions, IP codec sets, and DSP resource allocation. Proficiency in Avaya Site Administration (ASA) and SAT command-line, including bulk translation tools. Experience with translation backup/restore and Communication Manager version migrations. Ability to interpret CDR data. Preferred: experience with Avaya IX Messaging or Avaya Aura Messaging migration (Modular Messaging). Strong analytical and communication skills; ability to work overlapping U.S. Eastern Time until noon.
