Role Overview

We are looking for a Test Architect - Automation with a specialization in Playwright to lead and scale our automation strategy. This role demands a highly hands-on automation expert capable of architecting robust Playwright frameworks and integrating cutting-edge, scalable testing practices within continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipelines. The Test Architect will act as a technical authority, ensuring high-quality and maintainable automation across diverse projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and implement end-to-end automation solutions using Playwright across UI, API, and integrated systems.
• Design and build scalable, reusable frameworks employing modern design patterns such as Page Object Model (POM) and custom utilities.
• Establish automation standards and governance models including folder structures and naming conventions.
• Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines utilizing tools like Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, and GitLab.
• Implement cross-browser testing strategies, facilitating parallel and headless execution to optimize performance.
• Collaborate with development, DevOps, and product teams to enable shift-left testing and enhance product quality from the onset.
• Mentor and provide guidance to automation engineers, overseeing framework and code reviews.
• Explore and adopt AI-assisted testing methodologies to improve test reliability and detection of flaky tests.

Requirements

• Experience: 8+ years in automation engineering.
• Core Skills:
  • Strong hands-on expertise in Playwright (JavaScript/TypeScript mandatory; Java or Python is a plus).
  • Proven experience in designing and scaling Playwright frameworks.
• Understanding of:
  • Fixtures and custom test setup in Playwright.
  • Parallel execution and performance optimization.
  • Cross-browser automation strategies.
  • API automation using Playwright or REST libraries.
  • CI/CD integration and Git workflows.
• Familiarity with Agile environments and DevOps alignment.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with performance testing tools (JMeter, Gatling, etc.).
• Containerization (Docker) for automation execution.
• Exposure to Kubernetes-based test environments.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP).
• Basic understanding of front-end frameworks (React, Angular, Vue).
