Role Overview

Trainee Software Engineer – Join the Product Engineering team in Chennai. This role is a launchpad for your career in software engineering, where you will work on core platforms that deliver scalable, resilient, and cost-effective solutions powering global aviation operations. You will learn to apply world-class software engineering practices—including Java, Spring, system design, and design patterns—to solve complex Content Lifecycle Management (CLM) challenges. As a trainee, you will be integrated into a small, agile team, mentored by a Tech Lead, and given meaningful work that directly impacts the safe and efficient management of technical data for airlines, aerospace manufacturers, and MRO organizations.

Key Responsibilities

• Be part of a team of 2-5 engineers installing, configuring, customizing, maintaining, and integrating CLM solutions for aviation and aerospace customers.
• Consult with team members and customers to ensure project success: understanding requirements and estimating your work timeline to manage deliverables.
• Employ Agile/Test Driven Development (TDD) best practices.
• Work with the Tech Lead to break down assigned user stories into tasks.
• Write and test user stories; write code to implement requirements in a TDD process.
• Refactor code to improve quality and adhere to coding standards and technology best practices.
• Track work in JIRA or other task management software.
• Understand and adhere to all requirements of the Quality Management System and Information Security Management System.
• Analyze user needs, solve problems, and demonstrate analytical thinking.
• Understand technical design and design patterns.
• Manage projects in a deadline-driven environment.
• Exhibit strong written and verbal communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Suite programs.
