Role Overview

We are looking for a talented UI/UX Designer (Lead) to shape simple, useful, and engaging digital experiences across web and mobile. Reporting to the Product Manager (with an interim report to the CTO), you will play a key role in building our design system, mobile and web experiences, and admin dashboards. You will work closely with product and engineering teams to turn ideas into clear, easy-to-use products. This is a great opportunity for a designer who enjoys taking ownership, solving real user problems, and helping build products from the ground up. You’ll lead the visual and interaction design direction, establish design standards, and ensure every pixel serves the user.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a strong design system and component library in Figma, ensuring consistency and scalability across all products.
• Design simple and engaging web and mobile user experiences, from low-fidelity wireframes to high-fidelity mockups.
• Create admin dashboards and clear data visualisations for operational reporting, making complex information easy to understand.
• Ensure all designs follow WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility standards, advocating for inclusive design practices.
• Conduct user research and usability testing to understand user needs, validate concepts, and iterate based on feedback.
• Create prototypes (interactive or static) to test ideas, gather insights, and refine designs before development.
• Work closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to align on product goals and technical feasibility.
• Prepare meticulous design specifications and assets for smooth engineering handoff, including annotations, redlines, and design tokens.
• Review the final product during implementation to ensure the shipped experience matches the approved design.
• Take ownership of design quality and consistency across the product, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Help establish and improve design processes, best practices, and design operations as the company scales.

Tech Stack

• Design & Prototyping: Figma (components, auto-layout, design systems, prototyping)
• Accessibility: WCAG 2.2 AA compliance standards, accessibility auditing tools (e.g., Axe, Lighthouse)
• User Research: Usability testing platforms (e.g., UserTesting, Maze), survey tools, analytics (e.g., Hotjar, Google Analytics)
• Visual Design: Adobe Creative Suite (optional), design token management, responsive grid systems
• Collaboration: JIRA, Confluence, Slack, or similar project management and communication tools
• Development Handoff: Zeplin, Figma Inspect, or manual spec documentation using Notion/Google Docs

Must-Have: 3–5 years of experience in product/UI/UX design for web and mobile. Strong experience with Figma, including components and design systems. Good understanding of UX research, interaction design, and visual design. Experience creating responsive web and mobile designs. Strong eye for detail, usability, and clean visual design. Ability to work closely with product and engineering teams. Good communication skills and the ability to explain design decisions clearly. Nice-to-Have: Experience designing data visualisations and dashboards. Knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA and accessible design. Experience working on healthcare or other regulated products. Experience with design operations and structured design processes. Experience with both responsive web and native mobile design patterns.
