Role Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled and passionate UX Designer to join our engineering and product division in Chennai. In this position, you will be responsible for designing, building, and deploying critical systems that drive our core platform. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, UI/UX designers, and security engineers to deliver high-quality features and services. The ideal candidate has strong problem-solving abilities, deep technical knowledge in their domain, and a proven track record of shipping production-grade software. Key Responsibilities

As a UX Designer at Newton School, you will be expected to:

• Design, implement, and maintain high-performance, scalable, and secure systems and applications.
• Collaborate with product management and design teams to translate product requirements into concrete technical solutions and architecture.
• Write clean, well-documented, testable, and maintainable code adhering to industry best practices and standards.
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and architectural planning sessions to ensure high system reliability and code quality.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize complex software systems to resolve performance bottlenecks and production issues.
• Set up monitoring, alerting, and automated testing to ensure the health and reliability of our platform services.
• Mentor junior engineers, contribute to engineering team knowledge, and advocate for technical excellence within the organization.
• Keep up to date with the latest industry trends, tools, and technologies to continuously improve our product development processes.

Tech Stack & Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have experience and familiarity with the following:

• Languages and Frameworks: React.js, Node.js, Express, TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, Java, or Kotlin (depending on specific backend/frontend/mobile focus).
• Databases: PostgreSQL, MariaDB, MySQL, Redis, or MongoDB.
• Cloud & DevOps: AWS (Amazon Web Services) or GCP (Google Cloud Platform), Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI), Terraform.
• Tools & Practices: Git version control, Agile/Scrum methodologies, JIRA, RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and microservices architecture.
• Experience: 2+ years of professional experience in software engineering, SDE, backend/frontend development, or product roles at product companies or high-growth startups.
• Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience as a UX Designer. Proficiency in core technologies. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
